8 Tips For Marketing Your Pakistani Business To International Audiences
Digital marketing promotion is critical. However, what marketing strategies should you concentrate on with your limited time as a busy entrepreneur? With so many Pakistani startups operating on limited capital, you really need to focus on what will get you the best bang for your buck.
As a small business owner, it can be tough to understand where to even begin your digital marketing efforts, trust me, I’ve been there. Should you write and support a blog? Should you pay for advertising campaigns? Should you hire a call center? Should you….. On and On.
Here are 8 marketing strategies for Pakistani business owners to be successful marketing to an international audience.
1.) Start with Your Website
Without getting too technical, you need to be certain you have an upgraded, mobile-friendly website that is simple for users to browse with on all devices. There are no exceptions to this rule. Every business needs every competitive advantage it can get, especially if you are not native to the country you are marketing too.
Secondly, you have to make sure your website content is outstanding. If you are marketing to English speaking countries, then you absolutely must take care of every single word on your website. If English is your second language, then pay someone to help you. Nothing kills Western opportunities faster than butchering the English language. I can’t stress this enough.
2.) Do Not Forget the Fundamentals
On all of your marketing material, including social media, emails, website, you must prominently list your business’s essential contact information. Don’t make prospects search to find this information, because they won’t try very hard and will likely dismiss you. List your company address, phone number, hours of operation, etc.–on every page of your website where customers can locate them straight away. You’d be astonished how many companies neglect to list this info.
Do not lie about your location. Let people know where you are from and impress them with the content on the website. Yes, you will run into close-minded people that won’t give you the time of day, but remember there is still plenty of opportunity, but you have to set yourself up for success by following the tips below. If you are interested in marketing to the United States, I talk more about where to focus your marketing efforts here.
3.) Practice the Rule of Three
When it comes to digital or any other kind of marketing, my three rules would be: Keep it easy, be consistent, and always respond to feedback immediately. The last one is probably the most important here. You must be able to demonstrate how easy it is to communicate with you or someone in your company. If you are difficult to get in touch with, then client’s won’t put in the time to hunt you down. I promise that.
4.) Utilize Content Marketing
Organic digital advertising and marketing efforts will take time to pay off. I will write more about these on another article, but for now, the best thing you can do is start writing meaningful content for your website, blog and social media. You need to show that you are engaged, that you are accessible, that you are active in your field and that you are a thought leader. I have neglected this for years, and I wish I hadn’t. I look back now over the past eight years I have been running my business, and I think, “What if I had written just one article a week over this time?” I would have over four hundred articles that would rank on Google, thus driving tons of organic traffic to my website. Yes, while you are in the middle of writing articles it might seem far-fetched that it could yield results, but stick with it and it will pay off over time.
Look into taking your posts one step further by combining them on LinkedIn Pulse, which is a fantastic platform for extra exposure. Content is king! The more you’re able to create, the more links you can tag and the more you have to share.
5.) Utilize Social Media to Be Social
Most small businesses make the mistake of using social media to bombard their followers with promotions. Research shows this might turn off consumers and cause them to tune out from your posts. If you put the ‘social’ aspect on your digital advertising and provide valuable content they will more likely pay attention to the few promotions that you blend in. Show off your company culture by posting those company outing photos to parks or company sponsored BBQ’s. People like working with people, so share your happy, energetic business culture as much as you can. If you do this, then it’s perfectly fine and normal to sprinkle in some promotions now and again.
Be engaged with your audience and build trust and brand loyalty, instead of using your profiles to essentially be billboards. If they comment on your material, then comment back. Keep the conversations engaging and flowing.
6. Encourage Online Reviews
Claim your listings on evaluation and review sites. Make sure to put links to your reviews on your marketing material. Of course, in order to effectively use positive reviews, your company has to perform well to earn them. Don’t be afraid of asking for reviews after a job well done. American’s are well aware of the need for reviews and are willing to give them, both good and bad, so make sure you earn good ones. If you do earn a bad review, make sure you respond to it truthfully, own any mistakes that your firm committed and vow to do better. Try to keep your ratings over four stars.
7. Connect with Clients Via Email
Email is still among the most effective marketing tactics on the market. Nearly everybody checks their email many times per day, so create an engaging monthly email newsletter or send out advertising messages with special offers, news, and promotions. However, don’t overdo it, moderation is key. 8.) Explore Digital Advertising
Networking posts and organic search engine optimization will take time, however, you can try to speed up the process by exploring advertising on Facebook, Google or Bing. At my company, we have done very little paid advertising over the years to grow my businesses. We heavily relied on word of mouth and finding job postings of companies that needed staffing. The business did grow with these methods, but it was a slow and steady growth, which is what I was comfortable with. If you want to speed up your growth and you are sure your business can handle a large influx of new customers, then stay tuned. I will have a guest blogger write an article on the best ways to utilize paid advertising for Pakistani business owners soon.
I hope this list helps uncover some of the ways you can begin successfully marketing to international businesses. Remember, everyone is bombarded by advertisements on a daily basis. Our eyes and focus only go towards the best advertisements or emails, so make sure your outreach is as perfect as you can make it. Any mistake in grammar, bad links, will cost you dearly. International audiences have high standards and they don’t settle easily.
